Practical Patriotism

On Saturday I attended Loksatta Party's discussion on local governance. It was Q&A session presided by JP and Mr Ankaiah. While answering one of the questions JP pointed to a word
'Practical Patriotism'. Patriotism doesn't necessarily mean sacrifice or dying for one's country but being aware of common problems of the society and constantly working towards simple & achievable targets. Working towards one's own society with a clear list of objectives and actionable agenda shouldn't be a problem, though we cant equal it with the sacrifice of 5000 US soldiers who died in Iraq war, still 'practical patriotism' is all what we need than that vague 'Patriotism'. A salute to all the brave departed souls.
